Do...
  • Buy local and organic
  • Choose free-range, preferably local, grass-fed poultry and beef...and watch out for vegetarian feed -- this sometimes means soy, corn and wheat fed
  • Always buy wild-caught fish. Make sure it is not farmed
  • Keep a majority of your shopping to the perimeter of the grocery store
  • Add good things to your daily diet first, before taking out the bad
  • Aim for at least 1/3 of your daily food intake to be raw
  • Follow a healthy routine as much of the time as possible. If you can't follow a healthy routine 100% of the time, at least aim for the 80/20 rule, and give yourself some leeway 20% of the time
  • Increase your veggie intake to 5++ a day, while eating fruits only occasionally
  • Choose foods that have a lower carb/glycemic index as much as possible
  • Cut out sugar and dairy. If you are a coffee fanatic, ditch the sugar for natural sweeteners such as stevia or xylitol, and aim for raw milk/cream or unsweetened hemp milk...or just do green tea
  • Drink fresh juice. Juicing is one of the best ways to get your daily vitamins and minerals
  • Get sun exposure. Sun is good! Get healthy levels of sun exposure to supplement your vitamin-D intake
  • Eat healthy fats. Fats are good! Use healthful fats such as raw butter and coconut oils
  • Be mindful of what you put ON your body. Skin protects, but it also absorbs... avoid petrochemicals such as mineral oils, parabens, and pthalates, and filter your bath water. The simpler and more natural sounding the ingredients, the better
  • Stay hydrated... for every pound of body weight, drink 1/2 oz. of filtered or spring water (example- 150 lbs.= 75 oz. a day)

Don't...
  • Shop when hungry
  • Consume processed foods and fructose (as in high fructose corn syrup)
  • Eat wheat, gluten and highly allergenic foods
  • USe artificial sweeteners (stevia and xylitol are okay)
  • Use trans-fats, such as margarine and vegetable oils
  • Choose genetically modified foods such as soy and corn
  • Eat sugar and, yes, fructose
  • Buy non-organic (if you must do non-organic, try choosing fruits and veggies with thick skins)
  • Consume pasteurized and homogenized dairy
  • Drink soda, at all costs (it's like battery acid for your body!)
